FAQ- Reporting an environmental incident

PGC strive to prevent and minimise adverse environmental impacts, therefore all Penang citizens have a responsibility to report an environmental incident to ensure Penang a safe and healthy home to live in.

Different agencies cover distinct roles and responsibilities under their jurisdiction in different types of environmental incidents. We all have duty to inform relevant agencies in order to raise awareness and to strengthen collaboration between agencies involved in increasing competency and resilience and to extend and solve environment related issues effectively.

The following information serves as guidance in reporting environmental incidents efficiently so that relevant parties can respond in a skilled and consistent manner.

Identifying types of environmental incidents and getting to know the right agencies:

  1. Who do I report to on water supply issues?

    Water supply related issues: water supply interruption, quality of tape water, pipe leakage, pipe burst, meter malfunction, illegal pipe connection, etc. can be reported to:
